My Top 3 Pet Peeves

If you grew up in the 90s and you experienced writing in an Autograph book, pretty much that you also wrote something about pet peeves or the thing that annoys you. Right now, I was asked to write something about things that are not so pleasing to me.

1. Nasty People – who will not get irritated, dealing with ill-mannered people? Raise your hands! I always feel guilty if I realized that my actions are rude toward other people. There are times that we experience like waking up on the wrong side of the bed, feeling grumpy or being in a foul mood and it’s quite normal that we get annoyed easily sometimes, but is not cool that we act nasty all the times for no reason at all.

2. Me, being late – I was raised in a family who is very strict in terms of being on time in any events that I need to attend. Our parents instilled in us the importance of valuing other people time. Whenever, I feel that I’m on the verge of not making it on time with my appointment, I get too nervous and distracted. I hate it when people have to wait for me, for me that is really frustrating.

I’am suppose to state my top 3 pet peeves, but at the moment I can’t think of anything else, maybe in the future I can update this list.

Something that someone told me about myself that I’ll never forget

I talked to countless number of people this lifetime, people from all walks of life.  Maybe not all are deep conversations, some are just simple chit-chats, and some are longer that seemingly we already talk about everything under the sun. When we are having conversation with someone, it’s normal that we will not be able to grasp everything that the person we are talking with is saying.  It is not because we are not paying attention, or these are meaningless but rather our focus is to get the most essential message that a person is trying to convey. Believe or not, but we tend to be selective sometimes of the words or phrases that we want our brains to process or remember. Some conversations will be forgotten but some will remain imprinted in our memory. All those words that will govern our thoughts or feeling, positive or negative.

I encountered a lot of consequential talks with many people, from friends, children, elders, colleagues, coaches and mentors.  I do find time to have meaningful conversation I can get from people I’m dealing with because I know I will learn something from them.  True enough one of the most important things someone told about me is that “You are the greatest miracle in the world”.  It may be a cliché and we already know there are people in our lives that will constantly makes us feel that way like our parents or those people who adore us. Though, we also cannot deny that sometimes we are also harsh to ourselves especially when things didn’t go the way we want it to be and we tend to forget that we are important and our lives matter. It’s just a nice feeling that there is someone who will tap our shoulders and will gives assurance that being the person that we are is already ENOUGH and no matter what, our very existence is a MIRACLE indeed.

10 Things That Makes Me Really Happy

I listed down 10 things that makes me happy, in no particular order. It’s pretty challenging though. Here you go!

  1. K Drama – I’m a legit KPOP and K Drama fan since early 2000. The very first Korean Drama that I watched was Endless Love “Autumn in my Heart”, it has unique story line, the ending was tragic that I cried a bucket.  I fell in love with the actors, aside from that they possess pretty and handsome faces, their acting was also superb.  Up to this date it is still one of my favorite K-Drama. I’m not sure if I’m the only hopeful for Song Hye Kyo, Won Bin and Song Seung Hun to reunite in another drama.  Calling your attention KBS, TVN, MBC, SBS and JBTC, please…we want to see these 3 together again.
  2. KPOP – Oh..oh…oh…. Noona Nemu Yeppeo… I’m a multi-stan KPOP fan. I started with Shinee, Super Junior and Big Bang as my top 3 KPOP groups in 2008 -2009. The list of groups that I’m stanning is continuously growing and more and more are adding to it. I’m quite surprise how KPOP become so popular now a days.  I remember these groups were bashed by the haters and some even question my liking towards them, because yeah, they’re right, I don’t really understand what they are saying.  Some groups are also stereotype as gay because of their fashion and make-up. But hey, how can you ignore the talents of these girls and boys who put all their hearts and passions every time they hit the stage to perform?  We can ‘t deny that KPOP is now captivating the hearts of many, not only because they look like pretty dolls, but they are undeniably talented too. After all, music is not only for those who understand a specific language, music and arts are more than that.
  3. Cadbury “Bubbly” – I’m have a sweet tooth, but this brand of chocolate is my taste buds UF (ultimate favorite). I love chocolates and it will never change, my constant pick-me-upper.
  4. Moon – One of favorite hobby is to spare time gazing at night sky, with the moon accentuating it. I love the feeling, that it seems I have staring competition with our Moon. I’m a certified moon lover, regardless of its phase, whether it is new, quarter, crescent or full moon and I will be singing from heart out “So here I’m staring at the moon tonight, wondering how you look in this light”.

 5. Korean Milk Drink – My lifestyle is heavily influenced by Korean culture and I’m not denying that. I just can’t seem to get enough of these yummy milk drink, banana milk and strawberry milk are my favorites.

6. Skyline – I lost count of how many times I wrote about my fascination about skyline most especially the Twilight or KatawareDoki. I know it is not just a mere effect of the movie Kimi No Nawa, but my love for the celestial dome is as a big as it is. I have many photos save on my phone as a proof and I’ll be posting one of my favorites of course taken by yours truly.

7. Music – I once heard that music is the universal language. Music as we know is a form of art. Who will not be happy listening to his/her favorite music? I guess no one. I have no specific favorite genre, I listen to wide range of music from classical music, pop, jazz, hip hop, rock and heavy metal depending on my mood. How about you what type of music are you listening to? Do you enjoy attending to concerts of your favorite music icon too?

8. Books – I love reading books, reading is my second nature. If I’m not reading book, I read articles from internet like blogs, short stories, fan fictions and news. For me reading is essential, it helps us to become aware of what is happening in our society, it makes us understand and be familiar with new things.  It even helps us experience things or visit places beyond our imagination.  I’m glad that I develop this habit as a child and will continue to carry on with it until old age.

9. Spending time with my family and pets – Regardless how fun it is going out to explore different places. Nothing beats the quality time that you spend with the people you care about. Need not to write so much, I know many people can relate.

10. Solitude – I’m an introvert and it’s not hard to tell, if you will get to know me.  I also took Carl Jung’s MBTI and the result could attest to my personality. Being an introvert not necessarily mean that I avoid people or hanging out with them to have fun. I do enjoy talking to people and besides the nature of my work requires to communicate with many people. What does solitude have to do with me being an introvert?  I love tranquility and I’m comfortable being in my inner world. And you know what, after all the hustle in life, the best thing to do is to reflect and be in few hours of solitude.
